The bad guys in
The Homeward Bounders are a race of mysterious beings known only as
Them.
They have no new ideas of their own, preferring to steal them from other people. One of the ideas
They stole gave
Them a way to control worlds, and
They spend most of
Their time playing with worlds as if they were games.
Konstam believes Them to be a type of demon, but it is unknown whether They are actually related to the demons with which he is familiar.
